Investigator - Chicago, IL

Protek investigators conduct background investigations in support of our corporate, legal and government clients. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: Conducting background investigations for the purpose of employment suitability of persons who require access to sensitive information. Investigators will conduct face-to-face interviews with the subject, his/her neighbors, coworkers, friends and family. Investigators will also perform record searches at police agencies, courthouses, educational/financial institutions and medical/mental health facilities.

Bachelors Degree and minimum 2 plus years of experience performing background investigations in the field. Intermediate typing and computer skills are required and U.S. citizenship. Due to the nature of this position, a valid driver's license and transportation are required. Must have excellent writing and communication skills and have the ability to deal with various types of individuals. Applicants should hold an active Top Secret clearance or have a favorably adjudicated SSBI from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Those applying without a Top Secret clearance will be considered after applicants with clearances have been exhausted. Applicants without clearance must be able to pass a thorough background investigation (credit, criminal, civil, employment, mental health/medical). All applicants must satisfactorily complete an Investigator training course. Salary commensurate with experience.
